HYMN FOR THE DAY
Come, Thou almighty Comforter
And bring upon Thy wing
Sweet consolation to each soul
That we may praise and sing.
We want to hear, we want to see
We want to know Christ more
We want sweet foretastes of His love
As we have had before.
And shall we come in vain to God?
Lord, that cannot be
Thy promise stands engaged to come
And bless ev’n two or three.
Lord, give more love, more sincere faith
More confidence in Thee
Break off our legal chains, O God
And let our souls go free.
(Tune: “The Lord’s My Shepherd” p. 293)

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow: for thou knowest not what a day may
bring forth.” - Proverbs 27:1
Someone once said, “Pharisees and Publicans both pour out their hearts
before God; the one is bragging, the other is begging.” Lord, make us
to be beggars. I love the Ten Commandments – God’s holy law. And
I do not try to keep them. I have kept them perfectly! When the Lord Jesus
Christ obeyed God’s holy law perfectly – I did too! Trying to
keep them always comes up short, and in reality stirs up the passions of sin
(Rom.7:7-8). No, I do not try to keep them. I have kept them! In the Person
of my representative, I have kept them! “Do we make void the law through
faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” (Rom 3:31)

WHAT IS YOUR GROUNDS OF ASSURANCE?
; To those who struggle with assurance, saying, “There are so many times
that I do not feel saved,” I would remind you that, before you came
to Christ, there were many times you did not feel lost! Did your lack of “lost
feeling” at that time mean that you weren’t lost? Of course not!
For feelings have nothing to do with whether or not we are lost. Do you not
see that it is the same with respect to whether or not we are saved? Martin
Luther said it well when he wrote:
For Feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God;
Naught else is worth believing.
There it is! God’s Word! There is our foundation. The Scriptures never
instruct us to feel, but to believe. If you do not feel, believe anyway! It
does not say, “For by grace are you saved through FEELINGS.” Feelings
are a look inward, at ourselves. Faith is a look outward at Christ. Feelings
change because they look at a changing object – ourselves. Faith never
changes, for it looks at an unchanging object – Christ! May God grant
you grace to look to Him.

Saving faith is not based upon one’s feelings but upon God’s faithfulness.
It is able to embrace and rejoice in the promises of God. It needs no evidence
or proof, only a word from the living God; being “fully persuaded that
what God has promised, He is able also to perform” (Romans 4:21); and
realizing that the only difference between God’s faithful promise and
its perfect fulfillment is just a bit of time….His appointed time! -
Pastor Maurice Montgomery
“IF A PERSON IS TRULY SAVED…..?”
I introduced a Sunday morning sermon with an excellent question asked by a
friend, “If a person is truly saved by the grace of God in Christ will
he love, rejoice, give, share, forgive, and endeavor to glorify Christ in
his life or MUST HE BE TAUGHT THESE THINGS?” My answer: “Yes,
he will and yes, he must.”
The principles of grace and truth are in the heart by regeneration, as is
the love of Chris t and love for others; but children must be taught, reminded,
corrected, and even chastised. “Go ye and make disciples, TEACHING THEM
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:20).
The very fact that our Lord gave us the Lord’s Table to “do in
remembrance of Me” is proof enough that we need to be taught and reminded
of spiritual truth. - Pastor Henry Mahan

“WORSHIP GOD IN THE SPIRIT”
–Philippians 3:3
To worship God in the spirit is to worship without the use of idolatrous images
and rituals. It is a heart worship of the living God. Yet, it is much more
than that. It is worshipping God in the power of and under the influence of
the Holy Spirit. True worship is born in the heart by the Spirit of God. The
Holy Spirit speaks to us through the Word of God, revealing Christ in us;
and He causes us to worship God. It is the Spirit of Christ in the heart that
produces all characteristics of true worship: humility, faith, repentance,
submission, adoration, and obedience to God. - Pastor Don Fortner

WHAT IS IT TO WAIT UPON GOD?
To wait upon God means I cannot see the way out of this difficulty, but I
SHALL see it. I do not yet perceive God’s plan for my deliverance, but
I shall be delivered. I do not know how bread shall be given me, but I shall
have it even if God has to send ravens with it or rend heaven itself in twain.
I shall have His promise fulfilled, and I shall wait His time. & nbsp;
