It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
Though troubles assail, and dangers affright
Though friends should all fail, and foes all unite
This one thing secures us whatever betide
His promise assures us, The Lord will provide!
The birds without barn or storehouse are fed
From them let us learn to trust for our bread
His saints what is needed shall n’er be denied
So long as ‘tis written, The Lord will provide!
His call we obey like Abram of old
We know not the way, but faith makes us bold
For though we are strangers, we have a sure guide
And know in all dangers The Lord will provide!
No strength of our own, nor goodness we claim
Our trust is all cast on His precious name
In this our strong refuge for safety we hide
The Lord is our refuge, The Lord will provide!
When life is most o’er and death is in view
The word of His grace will see us safe through
Not fearing nor doubting, with Christ on our side
We hope to die shouting, The Lord will provide!
(Tune: “O Worship the King” p. 1)

“As many as walk according to this rule” Galatians 6:16. The word
rule is where we get the word canon from—the canon of Scriptures. It
was a rod of measurement; a ruler. We can measure ourselves by the rule the
scripture provides to see if we are authentic. The rule is found in Galatians
6:14-15. It has to do with the work of Christ for us and in us. You cannot
have the one without the other. (1) The work of Christ for us: “God
forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of=2 0our Lord Jesus Christ.”
A true believer will have confidence only in what Christ did for him. If I
have confidence in anything else, I am exposed as spurious. (2) The work of
Christ in us: “For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision availeth anything,
nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.” I know the work of Christ in
me is a new creation. He created in me that which was no there before. In
creation, God creates something from nothing. I know that the faith I have
came from Him. I know that the love I have to Him came from Him. In the first
creation, man did not contribute. That is equally true in the new creation.
“As many as walk according to this rule (the work of Christ for us and
in us) peace be on them, and mercy and upon the Israel of God.”

The two great ends of every believer’s life are THE GLORY OF GOD and
the GOOD OF OTHERS! As we minister the Gospel, love and pray for one another,
stand true to the responsibility of our homes and families, and use what God
gives to us to meet the needs of His people, BOTH OF THESE ENDS ARE SERVED!
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). 3 Pastor

We believe, that the work of regeneration, conversion, sanctification and
faith, is not an act of man’s free will and power, but of the mighty,
efficacious and irresistible grace of God. – C. H. Spurgeon
Some people use ‘the return of our Lord” to promote fear in the
hearts of their hearers, or to promote zeal and works among the indifferent,
or to encourage the careless to faithfulness. But the coming of the Lord Jesus
is like the return home of a beloved husband, father, or son who has been
away; one who is dearly loved, who has never been forgotten for a moment;
whose coming is neither unexpected, dreaded nor feared; whose coming is met
with joy unspeakable and full of glory. If a person cannot say with the beloved
John, “Even so, COME, Lord Jesus,” how can he be included among
those of whom it is said, “We WAIT for His Son from Heaven” (
II Thess. 1:10).

“And Israel saw the great work the Lord did…..” -Exodus
14:31
&nb sp; After the Israelites walked through the path of the Red Sea; after
the Lord drowned the Egyptians, it is written, “Thus the Lord saved
Israel that day…and Israel saw that great work which the Lord did…”
(Ex. 14:30-31). And so it is with true Israel. All Israel shall be saved…By
THE LORD, for SAVLATION IS OF THE LORD (Jonah 2:9). And all Israel shall see
that great work, so great salvation, WHICH THE LORD DID.
There was no doubt amongst any of the Israelites as to Who saved them and
how. They all knew it was the LORD Himself, by Himself. All they did was stand
still and behold His salvation. Neither is their any doubt amongst ANY of
God’s true Israel, ANY whom the Lord hath truly saved, as to Who saved
them and how. Ask them all and they will all tell you… Whose will?...Whose
choice?...Who accepted who?...Whose power?...Whose works?...Whose glory?...They
will all say with one voice…IT IS THE LORD!....SAVLVATION IS OF THE
LORD! - Pastor Paul Mahan

Discontent is the penalty we pay for being ungrateful for what we have. Very
little is needed to make a happy life; but unfortunately, one of the weaknesses
of our age is an apparent inability to distinguish need from greed. Paul said,
“Having food and rainment, let us be content.” Remember it is
no t the happy people that are thankful, it is the thankful people who are
happy. –Copied
