It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

HYMN OF THE DAY
From all who dwell below the skies
Let our Creator’s praise arise
Let the Redeemer’s name be sun g
Through every land, by every tongue.

Eternal are Thy mercies,Lord
Eternal truth attends Thy word
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore
‘Til suns shall rise and set no more.

O render thanks to God above
The fountain of eternal love
Whose mercies firm through ages past
Have stood, and shall forever last.

Extend to me that favor, Lord
Thou to Thy chosen doth afford
When you return to set them free
Let Thy salvation visit=2 0me!

(Tune: “Doxology”)

“The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold: therefore shall he beg in harvest and have nothing.” - Proverb 20:4

PERSONAL WITNESSING
“Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” - Mark 5:19
&nbs p; I am grateful for the opportunities we have to preach the Gospel through T.V. and the internet. I believe the Lord has blessed that. But those things cannot take the place of our personal witnessing. Telling our friends what God has done for us, and inviting them to come and hear the Gospel. In the book of Acts, before there was T. V., radio, or internet, the Gospel was spread throughout the world. How was it done? Through the preaching of men, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and by believers declaring the Word to whoever would listen. “….And with great power gave the apostles witness of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” If we have become negligent in this, may we repent! Where would we be if somebody did not preach the Gospel to us?

THE NEXT VICTORY
When your favorite sports team enjoys a big victory there is certainly a call for celebration. Coaches, players, and fans all relish in the victory. However, there is always another game to play. Shortly after the win, preparation for the next game must start. The team must study film, practice hard, and move on to the next game. I have often thought that this scenario can be compared to our worship services. There is certainly reason to celebrate and rejoice in the Gospel we hear and believe on Sundays and Wednesdays. But d oes it stop there? We should always prepare for the next meeting. As believers, we must witness, pray for our pastor and fellow worshipers, set examples for our children, read Scripture, and strive to lead lives that mirror that of Christ. If we do not “practice” for the next victory at what point will there be no victory? - Steve Sligh

It was to save sinners that Christ Jesus came into the world. He did not come to help them to save themselves, nor to induce them to save themselves, nor even to enable them to save themselves. He came to save them. – William Hendricksen

A BELIEVER’S IRONIC LIFE
I think ironic is the right word to help describe some aspects of a believer’s life.
When we were young and without Christ, we thought we knew everything, yet in reality we knew nothing. Now later on in life as a believer, I feel I know nothing, yet in reality I know everything…for I know Christ, who is my wisdom – “But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (I Corinthians 1:30).
When we were young and without Christ, we thought we were something, yet in reality we were nothing. Now later on in life as a believer, I feel I am nothing, yet in reality I am something, for I am complete (perfect) in Christ – “And ye are complete in Him” (Col. 2:10). - Brian DuFour

PITCH IT WITHIN AND WITHOUT
“Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” - Genesis 6:14
As great as it was, without this pitch, the ark would have been nothing but a death trap. The word “pitch” can be translated, atonement; “It is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” It is the blood of Christ shed that justifies us and the blood of Christ applied that sanctifies us. The one thing that kept the wrath of God from entering the ark was not Noah’s craftsmanship; it was the pitch within and without. The one thing that keeps the wrath of God from touching His people, is neither their faith nor their repentance; it is the blood of the son of God within and without. “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus……” - Pastor John Chapman

Judas betrayed his Master with a KISS! He came to the Lord with evil in his heart, the price of a compromise in his hand, religious devils at his side, and said, “Hail Master”, as he planted a KISS on the Lord’s cheek! This is how most apostates and compromisers operate: they betray the Son of God and the Gospel of grace WITH A KISS. They talk of love, humility, morality, and sugar and spice while they sell out to the religious world and betray the Sovereign Son of God. Men watch their pretended affection and hear their words, “Hail Master”, spoken so softly, smoothly, humbly, and sweetly, and they say, “Can such devout people be ENEMIES of the Lord?” Do not be deceived; sometimes the most devout looking, religious people can be the most hypocritical in the world. Do not be deceived by their kisses. LISTEN TO THEIR GOSPEL! Peter, bearing the sword, had more grace than Judas, who came with a kiss.
- Pastor Henry Mahan
