Sunday 11:00am WTVQ Channel 36
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
Sovereign grace o’er sin abounding
Ransomed souls, the tidings swell
‘Tis a deep that knows no sounding
Who its breadth or length can tell?
On its glories
Let my soul forever dwell.
Who from Christ that soul shall sever
Bound by everlasting bands?
Once in Him, in Him forever
Thus the eternal cov’nant stands
None shall take Thee
From the mighty Saviour’s hands.
On such love, my soul, still ponder
Love so great, so rich, so free
Say, while lost in holy wonder
“Why, O Lord, such love to me?
Hallelujah!
Grace shall reign eternally!
(Tune: “Looks Ye Saints!” p. 141)

“He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth his bread
to the poor.” - Proverbs 22:9
What a blessed thing it was to be in the early church. The excitement and newness
of their first love was still fresh. The early church is described in Acts 2:46-47
as being “of one accord.” Literally one mind - the mind of Christ.&
nbsp; The eating of their meat was described as “with gladness”;
exuberant joy, and “singleness of heart”; an unworldly simplicity.
Is there any reason for it to be any different today? We have the same Savior
and the same salvation.

WHY IS THE GOSPEL A MYSTERY TO MOST?
Proverbs 8:9
Why is the Truth such a mystery to most? Why is the Gospel so clear to the believer,
yet the world does not see it that way at all? Because Christ said, “It
is not given to them but to you it is given.” The Gospel is a revelation,
a gift, a very personal one at that. Just as you and I give gifts to whomever
we will, so it is with the unspeakable gift of a revelation of the Truth. He
reveals it to whomsoever He will. And when He reveals the Truth, it is, “all
plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.”
(Proverbs 8:9) - Pastor Paul Mahan

MY EXAMPLE
If my children follow my example, what kind of people will they be? Will they
be faithful or unfaithful? Generous or stingy? Content or complaining? If every
marriage has mine as its example, will people be happily married? If every church
member were just like me, what kind of church would this church be? If every
employee were just like me…I could go on and on, but the point is, “Faith
without works is dead.”
A faith that does not manifest itself in every area of my life is not saving
faith. The first thing the Lord said to each of the seven churches in Asia was,
“I know thy works.” It is our works that prove the reality of our
faith. The example we give is what we really are!
- Pastor Donnie Bell

=E 2MY SON, GIVE ME THINE HEART” – Proverbs 23:6
You may impose all sorts of rules, regulations, requirements, rituals, and organizations
on churches and individuals; but if the Lord does not have their hearts, it
is all futile. However, a heart devoted to Christ is a heart in love; and true
love needs none of these things. “I am His and He is mine.” - Pastor
Henry Mahan
If we ever truly learn that faith in Christ is th e gift, work and operation
of God, a supernatural thing - it will have a profound effect. It will alter
everything. We will stop trying to figure out how to make the Gospel effectual,
and just preach it. We will quit trying to determine where God is likely to
work, and serve Him where we are. We will cease trying to determine who is likely
to be saved, and preach the Gospel to anyone whose ear we can get. We will quit
trying to make the Gospel politically correct, socially palatable and culturally
relative, and just preach it.
I say to preachers of this generation who seem hell-bent on compromising the
Gospel in the name of seeing sinners converted – compromise accomplishes
nothing! Any converts gained by compromise are twofold more the children of
hell than they were before! Faith is God’s gift, God’s work, God’s
operation. And it is an operation performed, a work accomplished, and a gift
bestowed through the preaching of the Gospel (Romans 10:17).
May God give us the grace to preach the Gospel fully, to proclaim to sinners
everywhere the good news of salvation accomplished by the sovereign purpose
of God in eternal election and predestination, the obedience of Christ as the
Surety, Representative and Substitute of His elect in His obedience unto death,
and by the irresistible grace and omnipotent mercy of God the Holy Spirit in
effectual calling. May God give us wisdom to preach the Gospel plainly, and
the grace and power of His Spirit to preach it effectually to the hearts of
chosen, redeemed sinners. – Pastor Don Fortner</ o:p>
