Sundays 11:00 am Channel 36 WTVQ
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
Glory be to God the Father
Glory to the blessed Son
Sound aloud the Spirit’s praises
Hail the glorious Three in One.
Glory, honor, praise, and power
To the Lamb be ever paid
Let new blessings ev’ry hour
Rest on His exalted head.
May the grace of Christ our Saviour
And the Father’s boundless love
With the Holy Spirit’s favor
Be upon us from above.
Thus may we abide in union
With each other in the Lord
And possess, in sweet communion
Joy’s which earth cannot afford.
(Tune: “Jesus Calls Us” p. 374)

WHO MAKETH THEE TO DIFFER?
From the Scriptures and experience, I have learned that whatever is in the worst
of men and women is in the best of them, and whatever is in the best of them
is in the worst of them. In the very best and worst of Ada m’s children
there is a mind which is enmity against God, and there is in each of them a
heart which is deceitful above all things and desperately (incurably) wicked
(Romans 8:7; Jeremiah 17:9; Genesis 6:5; Genesis 8:21).
As Mr. Newton said, “There is indeed a difference amongst men, but it
is owing to the restraints of Diving Providence, without which earth would be
the very image of hell….education and interests, fear and shame, human
laws, and the secret power of God over the mind, combine to form many characters
that are extremely decent and respectable,” but none can praise himself,
for “WHO MAKETH THEE TO DIFFER?”
“I am what I am,” said the apostle Paul, “by the grace of
God.” It is owing to the mercy and grace of God alone that all of us are
not already in hell; and whatever degree of human dignity and decency, morality
and manners which we may possess and manifest, is due to the mercy and grace
of God. How much more, then, must we ascribe all spiritual knowledge and understanding,
gifts and enjoyments to the sovereign , free grace of God in Christ. “WHO
MAKETH THEE TO DIFFER ?” The children of God cry with one voice, “TO
GOD BE THE GLORY!” - Pastor Maurice Montgomery

I Corinthians 3:6
You and I may and must go, feeble as we are, useless as we are, and tell sinners
about the sinners’ Savior. We may and must scatter the precious seed of
the Gospel. The hand that sows the seed is meaningless. Life is in the seed,
not in the hand that sows it. In spiritual matters, not even the soil matters,
for it is the grace of God that makes the soil rich and fertile. Until grace
comes, all is alike barren, empty and desolate. But God can make the seed sown
fruitful anywhere.
- Pastor Don Fortner
When did the Lord first begin to deal with my soul? When, exactly, did I first
begin to believe? When did I actually become a Christian? A child of God? I
gave up tying to answer those questions a long time ago, as being totally unimportant.
George Whitefield once said, “I have heard of a person who was in a company
with fourteen ministers of the Gospel, some of whom were very eminent servants
of Christ, yet not one of them could tell the time when God first manifested
Himself to his soul.” It is quite sufficient to me that, by the grace
of God, I do believe in the Ch rist of Scripture. And as a believing sinner
I continue to pray for grace to continue to believe in Christ (Hebrews 10:38-39).

A true Christian is an odd number. He feels supreme love for One whom he has
never seen; talks familiarly every day to Someone he cannot see; expects to
go to Heaven on the virtue of Another; empties himself in order to be full;
admits he is wrong so that he can be declared right; goes down in order to get
up; is strongest when he is weakest, richest when he is poorest, and happiest
when he feels the worst. He died so he can live; forsakes in order to have;
gives away so he can keep; sees the invisible, hears the inaudible; and knows
that which passeth knowledge. – A. W. Tozer

TRUST, DON’T THINK
“For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth
himself.” – Galatians 6:3
The problem with man is that we think too much, and trust very little. I would
advise we start trusting, and stop thinking… “It is better to trust
in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” (Psalm 118:8)
