Sundays 11:00 am Channel 36 WTVQ
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
When oceans vast their depths reveal
And moons have ceased to wain
The Lamb, who died and rose again
On Zion’s hill shall reign.
His glorious name must long endure
When suns have ceased to shine
And through eternity the saints
Will sing His praise divine.
As countless as the drops of dew
Or sands upon the shore
Are blessings which the ransomed have
In Him forevermore.
Let ev’ry other name recede
His name alone extol
In Him reserved there is the grace
To satisfy my soul.
(Tune: “Amazing Grace”)

A DRAFT OF VOLUNTEERS
Our military forces today are made up of volunteers. There have been times when
a draft was instituted and men were forced to be in the military. God’s
people are all, without exception, drafted to be God’s people, and they
are all, without exception, volunteers to be God’s people.
The draft works like this. They were all elected to be saved before time began.
God did not consult with them about their election. Christ died for their sins
without asking them about it. The Holy Spirit calls them with invincible and
irresistible grace. And they become willing (volunteers) in the day of His power.
God said, “Whom shall I send? (the draft) and who will go for us”
(volunteers). Isaiah said, “Then said I, Here am I , send me” (Isaiah
6:8). The Lord said, “No man can come to Me except the Father which hath
sent Me draw him…” We did not want to come, so He drew us by His
grace, against our natural will, with our full consent. Thus we have a draft
of volunteers.

OUR REDEEMER
We worship that gloriously unique God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God
and son of Mary. He is the Messenger and the message, our Priest and our Sacrifice.
He is the v ery “sum and substance” of our Theology, that divine
truth we know and love. What we call Calvinism or the Doctrines of Grace, are
embodied in Him. One may be familiar with those doctrines and not know Him.
But ONE CANNOT KNOW HIM AND HAVE A LASTING PROBLEM WITH THOSE DOCTRINES, because…they
emanate from Him, being of the very essence of His glorious Person and work.
True faith (the gift o God wrought through His word, Romans 10:17) cannot conceive
of Him as being anything less than absolutely sovereign; and of His work, for
and in the sinner as being anything other than absolutely free and effectual.
Thus, praise His name! He is a real and SURE hope for real, helpless, ‘dead
dog’ sinners - Pastor Maurice Montgomery
TWO RELIGIONS
There are really only two religions in the world. One of Cain and the other
of Abel. One is Ishmael and the other of Isaac. One of Esau and the other of
Jacob. One of law and the other of promise. One of Mount Sinai and the other
of Mount Calvary. One condemns, the other finds no fault. One leads to bondage,
the other to freedom. One tendeth to death, the other to life. One of weakness,
the other of power. One of merit, the other of mercy. One of the weakness of
the letter, the other of the power of the Spirit. - Pastor Tom Harding

THE CARES OF THIS LIFE
The Bible does not recognize “the cares of this life”. Also called,
“the cares of the world.” The word cares means, “that which
distracts”. The cares of making a living, the cares of raising a family,
the cares of doing a good job at what we are doing. There are so many things
that can be considered “the cares of this life.”
The Lord warned us about having our hearts overcharged with the cares of this
life (Luke 21:34). Overcharged is the drowsiness associated with drunkenness
or gluttony. Our hearts may become drowsy and dull with regard to the things
of God because they have become “overcharged with the cares of this life.”
If we continue in this state, it will prove at the end we were nothing more
than thorn-choked hearers, where “the cares of this world” “choked
the word”. May we always remember, “the cares of this life”
are unimportant compared with the life to come. “See ye first the kingdom
of God, and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you.”
Who does the Bible speak to? You! It does not speak to other men. It speaks
to you. It does not tell other men what they should do. It tells you what you
should do. It does not tell other men how to treat you. It tells you how to
treat them. It does not address what others should or should not be doing. It
tells you what you should or should not be doing regardless of whether anybody
else is! The Lord told Peter what type of death he would die which would glorify
God. Peter then turned toward John and said, “What shall this man do.”
The Lord replied, “What is that to thee? Follow thou Me!” What somebody
else does or does not do is none of our business. My responsibility is not to
worry about somebody else. I am not to concern myself with whether they are
pulling their share of the load. That is between them and the Lord. My responsibility
is to follow Christ myself: “Whatsoever he saith unto you, you do it”
(John 2:5)
