Sundays 11:00 am Cha nnel 36 WTVQ
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.

Now may the Lord reveal His face
And teach our stammering tongues
To make His sovereign, reigning grace
The subject of our songs.

No sweeter subject can invite
A sinner’s heart to sing
Or more display the glorious right
Of our exalted King
Of our exalted King.

Grace reigns to pardon crimson sins
To melt the hardest hearts
And from the work it once begins
It never once departs
It never once departs.

‘Twas grace that called our souls at first
By grace thus far we’re come
And grace will help us through the worst
And lead us safely home
And lead us safely home.

(Tune: “Majestic Sweetness” p. 52)

&nbs p; Beginning next week, in the adult’s Sunday morning Bible Study we will begin a study on what God’s word has to say about marriage.

Thank you to everyone who helped at Bible School this week! We had a good week and appreciate everyone who worked so hard. May the Lord have His hand upon our children and reveal Himself to them.

“Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works.”
- Hebrews 10:24
We all desire to be loved. But understand, there is no such thing as being loved unconditionally. God does not love unconditionally. He loves us in Christ. United to Christ, we draw out His love. And no human being will love us in a relationally way unconditionally. The writer to the Hebrews calls on us to provoke one another, not to wrath, but to love. Treat one another in such a way that it stimulates love. In loving somebody, we seek their good and we seek to please them. That is “provoking one another to love and good works.”

& nbsp; As long as we are in this flesh, we will have misunderstandings among us, unpleasantness, and even injustices (we will feel that our rights have been violated and others have been wrong in what they have said and done). What is to be our attitude? It is to be twofold: FOREBEARING one another and FORGIVING one another. To FORBEAR is to control our emotions, surrendering our rights for the time being in patient hope that God will reveal His purpose and will. To FORGIVE is actually to put the misunderstanding out of mind and restore a state of love and fellowship. Our Lord FORBEARS, that is, He is longsuffering and patient with us, and He FORGIVES, remembering our sins no more. - Pastor Henry Mahan

When good Mr. Hervey questioned a godly ploughman as to what was the greatest hindrance to a sinner’s coming to Christ, he thought the ploughman would say, “Sinful self,” but he said, “Righteous self,” and so it is. Righteous self-confidence in our prayers, self-confidence in our repentance, self-confidence in something we mean to do, or something we feel that we already have - all this keeps us back from true peace and comfort. - C. H. Spurgeon

DOES GOD REALLY LOVE EVERYONE?
Before you answer, let me ask you another question. Are you sure you want God to love that way?
Here’s a universal truth regarding the nature of love: The broader you spread it, the thinner it gets.
Let me give you a few examples. A man loves his wife dearly, but he also loves three other women just as sincerely. A mother tenderly loves her son, but she also loves all the neighborhood children just as much. A boy loves his younger brother faithfully, but he’s equally loyal to the bully who beats up on him.
The more universal love becomes, the more superficial it turns out to be. In fact, it’s the distinguishing character of love that demonstrates the reality of it. How can the wife know her husband really loves her unless he keeps his wedding vows, “forsaking all others for her alone”? How does a child know he is loved unless his mother makes a distinction between him and other children? How can a brother be convinced of his sibling’s love, unless he comes to the aid of his brother against his adversaries?
By its very character, love that is true cannot be universal. Whether we’re speaking of men and women, or God Himself, love that makes no distinction between the object of its affection and all others is simply a non-reality. And a God who loves everyone, in reality loves no one! &nbs p; - Mark Daniel

FAITH IN CHRIST
Faith in Christ is NOT TO WORK, but to cease from our labor and to rest in Him for all things. Faith in Christ is NOT TO DO ANYTHING, but to believe and own that ALL IS DONE in Him, by Him, and is imputed to us so fully that we are rewarded as it being what we did ourselves. - Pastor Henry Mahan
