HYMN OF THE DAY
Revive Thy work, O Lord
Create soul-thirst for Thee
And hung’ring for the Word of life
O may our spirits be!

Revive Thy work, O Lord
Exalt Thy precious name
And by the Holy Ghost our love
For Thee and Thine inflame.

Revive Thy work, O Lord
Give pow’r unto Thy word
And may its pure and sacred truth
In living faith be heard.

Revive Thy work, O Lord
And give refreshing showers
The glory shall be all Thine own
The blessing, Lord, be ours.

(Tune: “I Love Thy Kingdom” p.188)

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” - Proverbs 27:1

Moses said, “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom” - Psalm 90:12. We wake up every morning to a new day. It may be our last. Our life is measured in days. These days are brief, uncertain, and soon to be over. If we think of our day and days in those terms, if we wisely number our days, we will apply our hearts to wisdom. We will seek the Lord and His righteousness, seek to walk with and honor Him. It will change our perspective of that day. We will seek His glory and not our own. Our concern will be people and relationships, not things and places. We can only number our days like this as He teaches us, so we cry , “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.”

BLOOD BEFORE THE LORD
Note in Scripture how many times the blood is said to be “before the Lord.” Whether any man saw it or not was of small account, for it was offered for sin “before the Lord”. When the Passover lamb was slain in Egypt, where was the blood placed? It was on the OUTSIDE of the door “before the Lord”. He said, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” The suffering and death of Christ on behalf of His people was “BEFORE the Lord”. UNTO the Lord, to declare the Lord’s righteousness, to satisfy the Lord’s justice, to fulfill the Lord’s purpose, to glorify the Lord’s character, to enable the Lord to be both just and justifier! The atonement does not change the NATURE and character of God, but rather the atonement HONORS and MAGNIFIES the character of God. The death of Christ is NOT the cause of God’s love, but the result of it. God is not merciful because Christ died; Christ died because God is merciful. In order that every attribute might be expressed, glorified, and honored, God gave His Son to be the Savior of the chosen people! Thank God we have an atonement “before the Lord.”

Let us never diminish one aspect of our Savior’s work to make another appear more glorious. All that Christ is made to us and all that He does for us is vital. We cannot be saved without His work for us; and we cannot be saved without His work in us. Both are vital.
- Pastor Don Fortner
“SHALL NOT THE JUDGE OF ALL THE EARTH DO RIGHT?”
“That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” - Genesis 18:25
Is this not our confidence and comfort, that the Judge of all the earth will do right; He can do no wrong. Even though I may not understand what the Judge is doing, I am confident it is right. Therefore we know, with absolute confidence, that He will not slay the righteous with the wicked. Believers do not have to fear His judgments. Let us never be guilty of judging the Judge, but let us be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). – Pastor John Chapman

THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
Divine grace is the sovereign and saving favor of God exercised in the bestowment of blessings upon those who have no merit in them and for which no compensation is demanded from them. Nay, more: it is the favor of God shown to those who not only have no positive deserts of their own, but who are thoroughly ill-deserving and hell-deserving. It is completely unmerited and unsought, and is altogether unattracted by anything in or from or by the objects upon which it is bestowed. Grace can neither be bought, earned, nor won by the creature. If it could be, it would cease to be grace. When a thing is said to be of “grace” we mean that the recipient has no claim upon it, that it was in nowise due him. It comes to him as pure charity and, at first, unasked and undesired.
- A. W. Pink

If the speaker knows his heart at all, there are two things with which he is eminently and forever satisfied. One is that he is satisfied with his salvation, which he has through faith in Christ. He is satisfied with WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID AT CALVARY when he put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. He is so satisfied that he would not add so much as the lift of his finger to what Jesus Christ did at Calvary as the ground of his acceptance with God. The second thing with what he is satisfied is THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD IN HIS LIFE. The way has not always been plain, nor has it always been pleasant; but we believe that God’s way with us has been profitable to us and to His glory.
