Sundays 7:00 am Channel 27 WKYT
It is requested that all children under the age of five stay in our nursery
so there will be no distractions during the preaching of the Gospel.
HYMN OF THE DAY
Now gracious God, Thine arm reveal
And make thy glory known
Now let us all Thy presence feel
And soften hearts of stone.
Help us to venture near Thy throne
And plea our Savior’s name
For all that we can call our own
Is vanity and shame.
From all the guilt of wretched sin
May mercy set us free
And let the week we now begin
Begin and end with Thee.
Send down Thy Spirit from above
That we may love Thee more
And others now may learn to love
Who never loved before.
(Tune: “O For A Thousand Tongues” p. 46)

We rejoice with Michelle Grubb and Matthew Greenleaf, who both confessed Christ
in believer’s baptism last Sunday evening.

“Say not thou, I will recompense evil: but wait on the Lord, and He
shall save thee.” - Proverbs 20:22
“Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ”
- I John 1:3
The word fellowship means a sharing in common. When we have fellowship with
God there are things we share in common with Him. We have Christ in common.
Christ proceeded from the Father, and we come from Christ, and are in Him.
We have a common faith. God looks to Christ for all He requires of us. We
look to Christ for all He requires of us. We share a common nature. He is
divine. We are said to be “partakers of the divine nature.” We
share a common motive. The glory of Christ is God’s motive for doing
what He does. His glory is our motive also. He sees His Son as altogether
lovely. We do too! Truly, we have fellowship with God and the fellowship we
have with one another is the fellowship we have with God.

THE HEARER I APPRECIATE
1. One who has prayed for the preacher and for the blessings of the Lord on
the congregation which is meeting that day.
2. One who is punctually in his pew with his family beside him.
3. One who has a Bible open and who devoutly follows the Scriptures read as
hearing God speaking to him.
4. One who takes a hymnbook and joins in the praise of the Lord as earnestly
as does the leader of praise.
5. One who in his heart joins in the prayer time.
6. One who remembers that we are in the presence of God and bears himself
with reverence of manner and conversation.
7. One who looks for Christ and grace in the sermon and not for rhetoric,
elocution, and clever statements.
8. One who listens, takes the message to himself, and has a comment afterward
regarding the subject.
9. One who has a look and a word of Christian greeting for those near him
in the church after the services. – John Hall

The Sovereignty of God is the stumbling block on which thousands fall and
perish; and if we go contending with God about His sovereignty it will be
our eternal ruin. It is absolutely necessary that we should submit to God
as an absolute sovereign, and the sovereign of our souls; as one who may have
mercy on whom He will have mercy and harden whom He will. – Jonathan
Edwards
CURE FOR CARE
1. We have entirely too many fears for a people to whom the Lord has said,
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my
righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).
2. We have far too many doubts and fears concerning God’s mercy, love,
and grace for a people to whom the Lord has said, “Him that cometh to
me I will in no wise cast out…I give unto them eternal life, and they
shall never perish” (John 7:37; 10:28-30).
3. We spend entirely too much time grumbling and complaining about our trials
and troubles for a people to whom the Lord has said, “In the world ye
shall have tribulation but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”
(John 16:33).
4. We have entirely too much attachment to this world and to this present
life for a people who are looking for a city whose Builder and Maker is God
(Hebrews 1:8-10). “We know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle
were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal
in the heavens” (II Corinthians 5:1).

The longer I live, the more I feel that if there was one thing left undone,
if the devil were not conquered, sin not expiated, justice not satisfied,
the law not honored and magnified, death not overcome, and every burden carried,
I should not have a ray of hope. I see and feel now that if one hair breath
is left for me to do to merit heaven, or bring as a plea before God, I am
undone forever and ever. – John Warburton

You don’t have to teach a drowning man what to say. We preach the Gospel
and the Holy Ghost will be left to work in men’s hearts. There’s
no pressure, no persuasion, and no psychology to get professions or joiners
or decisions. The preacher will preach the Gospel; he will preach the Word
of God and will leave people alone. They will leave them in the hands of the
Holy Spirit. – Pastor Henry Mahan
